In this ERASMUS project, we develop and test the training of people with a migrant background as mentors who accompany and advise other (same-age) migrants and refugees on their arrival in the new country.
In the moment the group is finishing the teaching plan for the mentors (Intellectual Output no. 1).
The aim is to make it easier for newcomers to integrate into their host country. This cannot always be done by teachers alone, but should be facilitated through peer group learning.
For this reason, we have decided to develop a curriculum with central ideas and methods, with approximate timing of the lessons, which is easy to understand for any teacher of any culture and can be easily implemented in the training of mentors.
During the next days the first draft will be published on our website!
